Multiparametric MRI images of patients with elevated PSA are evaluated.
In this way, while the biopsy decision is abandoned in some patients (in order to avoid unnecessary prostate biopsy), in other patients, the target prostate biopsy is aimed at the lesion on MRI imaging.
The needles do not pass through the intestine, which we call rectum, but they pass through the area called perineum, where the anus and testicles are located. Thanks to robot guidance, all biopsies can be taken from only two points. ;
The infection rate in the perineal method is considerably lower than the infection rate seen in standard biopsy or other fusion biopsy systems.
The risk of rectal bleeding is low.
