MR Fusion Biopsy

MR-fusion biopsy is a highly sensitive method for diagnosing prostate cancer. It provides a more accurate and guided biopsy compared to conventional prostate biopsies. This method makes it possible to perform a guided biopsy of prostate tissue using combined magnetic resonance imaging (MR) and real-time ultrasound imaging technologies.

MR-fusion biopsy first involves taking a detailed MR image of the prostate. These images are analyzed to identify possible foci of cancer within the prostate. It is then blended with these MR images during real-time ultrasound imaging to guide the biopsy needle towards the identified target area of the prostate. This allows precise tissue samples to be taken from areas where prostate cancer is suspected.
